Other than an education, the most lasting benefit of attending a university is networking and the lifelong friends you can make. The Utah Renaissance House is one house with several women living, studying, and socializing together. They are all part of the house community and part of the university student community. Living together and so close to the university offers the opportunity to enjoy and thrive in these communities, with fellow housemates supporting and helping one another.
You really have to see it to understand. The Utah Renaissance House is a 100+ year old home built in the Italian Renaissance style architecture. It has original hardwood floors, wood trim, wood and plaster ornate molding, and beautiful architectural detail. It is located in a beautiful and prestigious neighborhood with fully mature trees and other beautiful homes.
Moving into the Utah Renaissance House is as easy as unpacking your suitcase in your fully furnished room, decorating the room as you like, and setting up your access to the Wi-Fi and fingerprint activated door locks. You will quickly start your studies and begin meeting your new friends. All of the utilities, house maintenance, general supplies, and cleaning is provided and managed by the house manager. You even get your room cleaned!
Prospective tenants sometimes ask "what's the vibe of the house? Is it religious? Are the girls partiers? Is it a bunch of sorority girls? The answers is . . . . we don't ask and we don't select for any "type." We expect only that tenants respect one another. There is no effort to prefer any type of person or exclude any type of person. Living in the house is one more opportunity to embrace the diversity of beliefs and opinions that comes with a University experience.
The Utah Renaissance House has two full kitchens with full size stoves, full size ovens, full size refrigerators, full size microwaves, full size dishwashers, and cupboards full of dishes, pots, pans, plates, and cooking utensils. You decide whether to eat a frozen burrito or cook a gourmet meal. You will have plenty of refrigerator and cabinet storage space and can eat as healthy . . . or not . . . as you want!
Parking is a tremendous challenge at the University of Utah. and its getting worse. The House has extraordinary parking options. The house has seven parking spaces on the lot with two of those in a garage that has an electric car charger. Residents can also park in a 24-hour University “U pass” parking lot located a one-minute walk from the house. This one lot is never full! There is no home, dorm, or apartment with better parking.
The management is amazingly responsive, including a female student living in the house and attending the university. She will be regularly inspecting the house for necessary repairs, making sure the kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry rooms are tidy and fully provisioned, overseeing the professional weekly cleaning, and generally making sure that those people living in the house have an amazing experience.
The Utah Renaissance House is unmatched when it comes to security. The House is located in a very expensive and prestigious neighborhood. The House has fingerprint enabled locks on all exterior doors and interior bedroom doors. These doors are set to automatically lock. The House has exterior door cameras and a complete exterior camera and motion sensor lighting system with well lit parking and access areas. Tasteful signs advertise the existence of the cameras as a further deterrence.
The House is literally a one-minute walk from campus and University Parking, and a two-minute walk to the closest classroom building. It is across the street from one sorority house and only a few houses from the other sorority and fraternity houses. It's a five-minute walk to iconic University eating establishments like the Pie Pizzeria and B & D Burgers. The House is also a five-minute drive to all the dining, shopping, and entertainment downtown Salt Lake City has to offer.
The House has amazing living rooms with huge flat screen televisions and the house pays for Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, Max, Hulu, Peacock Premium, and Apple TV+. The social room has a pool table, retro arcade game, chess game table, and plenty of room for socializing. The House also has a private and secluded back patio with bench seating and plenty of space to relax. In addition to all of this, the House has other beautiful outside spaces for studying and a beautiful lawn for relaxing.
The House is minutes from three world-class hospitals, emergency rooms, and health care systems. Holy Cross Hospital (formerly the Salt Lake Regional Medical Center) is four blocks west of the House. The University of Utah teaching hospital is a two-minute drive East, adjacent to campus. LDS Hospital is a five-minute drive to the North-East. There is no better place to live in Utah for access to healthcare, regardless of your health care plan and needs.
The House is an ten minute walk to the University of Utah George S. Eccles Student Life Center with a world class indoor running track, swimming pool, basketball court, racquetball court, yoga room, weight room, cardio facilities, and indoor climbing wall. The house is a short bike ride to mountain biking trails in the nearby mountains, a short walk to several parks, and a short drive to countless parks and hiking trails. It's also located in a beautiful neighborhood for a run.
The House has unparalleled storage and each resident can store a bike, snowboards, skis, and just about any other similarly sized outdoor or sporting equipment and gear either in the house or in the detached garage storage room. In addition, each resident is provided two 25-gallon totes for storage in the House in a secure storage room.
There are countless restaurants within a ten-minute drive of the home and six grocery stores within a five-minute drive. They include Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Sprouts Farmers Market, two Smiths grocery stores, and a Harmons Grocery store. There are grocery delivery services available and each resident has allocated kitchen cabinet and refrigerator space for groceries.
The House is immediately adjacent to campus and a five-minute walk to the University of Utah library with all of its amazing resources. The House has two rooms dedicated to studying and countless other spaces where residents can study, in addition to their bedrooms. There is no better place for a student serious about her studies.
For many students, college is the first step away from home and into a world of independent decision making and self reliance. The Utah Renaissance House provides an important step in that direction, with some assistance. You won't have to worry about utilities, collecting rent from roommates, or cleaning the bathroom; but you will have the responsibility for laundering your own clothing, cooking your own food, doing your own homework, and regulating your sleep, study, and play time.
